Nick was born in Lake Forest IL and was raised following his father around the world while he worked in the offshore oil industry. After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, he began working for a fracturing company specializing in pumping energized fluids.
The opportunity arose for Nick to participate as a working interest owner with an independent oil and gas operator, which in turn led to the opportunity to start his own fracturing company (Technology Stimulation Services, or Techstim) with two partners with a wealth of fracturing experience. Thanks to the knowledge gained from working on the production side and from his partners in Techstim, Nick was able to begin working on developing new methodologies and products to enhance production. Upon the sale of the fracturing company, Nick devoted more of his efforts into understanding and developing new products to advance the science of well completions. These efforts continue to this day through several smaller ventures, in addition to his continued involvement with the original operator that made it all possible.
Nick’s investigations into fracture treatment diversion introduced him to the DiverterPlus team. Developing and testing new products in conjunction with the team led to increasing involvement, ultimately resulting in his current position as Director of Engineering (PE), and Design and Frac Specialist.
In his free time, Nick enjoys golf, martial arts, and outdoor activities, particularly when he can participate in them with his fiancée and their 3 children.
